Expected Income: $600,000 + / year (Base salary of $400,000 + aggressive productivity structure)

Established in 1997, Gleason-Janky Eye Physicians is a highly respected, physician-owned private practice serving central Nebraska. Founded by board-certified ophthalmologists Dr. Michele Gleason and Dr. Julie Janky, our clinic delivers top-tier medical and surgical eyecare across all age groups. We operate out of a modern, fully-equipped clinical space and maintain strong surgical affiliations with the nearby Grand Island Surgical Center. We are affiliated with CHI St. Francis and Grand Island Regional Hospitals. We are seeking an ambitious, patient-centric Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to step into an active patient volume and transition into long-term practice ownership.
Position Summary
We are expanding our clinical team to meet growing community demand. As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, you will manage a robust blend of medical pathology and high-volume surgical cases, including advanced cataract surgery, glaucoma management, diabetic eye disease, and minor oculoplastics. This role offers immediate volume, experienced clinical support (including dedicated ophthalmic assistants), and an explicit 1-to-2-year partnership track.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical Care: Perform high-volume cataract surgeries with premium advanced technology lens implants, and if interested basic oculoplastic procedures.
Medical Management: Diagnose and treat full-spectrum eye diseases, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy.
Laser Procedures: Conduct in-office laser procedures such as YAG capsulotomies, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), and peripheral iridotomies.
Consultations: Provide comprehensive emergency and routine eye exams referred by our strong regional network of primary care providers and optometrists.
Collaboration: Maintain collaborative medical staff relationships with CHI Health St. Francis for coordinated patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited program.
Training: Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency program.
Licensure: Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the State of Nebraska.
Skills: Strong surgical competency in standard anterior segment procedures; excellent interpersonal skills to foster long-term patient relationships in a tight-knit community.
Compensation & Performance Incentives
Base Salary: $400,000.
Earning Potential: Total projected annual income of $600,000+ driven by an aggressive productivity-based bonus structure.
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 upfront signing incentive.
Relocation Stipend: $10,000 to assist with moving costs.
Partnership Options: Clear 1-year and 2-year partnership track options, including an opportunity to purchase shares in the local surgery center.
